What it establishes: Chapter 72-35 reorganized Florida wrongful-death law into sections 768.16 through 768.27 and directed a single action through the personal representative.
Why it matters: The Florida Supreme Court later described the Act as eliminating the decedent’s death-causing personal-injury pain-and-suffering claim and substituting survivor pain and suffering. The full Act, not a later summary, controls.
