> Support the continuing research, preservation, publication, travel, technology, and personal capacity behind Florida Hellthcare.

Florida Hellthcare is personal work with a public purpose. Support helps sustain the research, preservation, publication, advocacy, and ordinary personal capacity required to continue it.

What support may be used for

Records and preservation

Archive reproductions, public-records and FOIA fees, clerk and court records, transcripts, copying, scanning, digitization, storage, backup, and long-term preservation.

Technology and publication

Hosting, domains, security, software, AI subscriptions, token or processing costs, data tools, and hardware such as local computing and GPU capacity.

Research and public engagement

Travel to Tallahassee and elsewhere, transportation, lodging, meals, copying, archive and law-library research, legislative or executive outreach, and related work expenses.

Past and continuing burdens

Past project costs, court-related expenses or liabilities connected to the documented work, and ordinary personal needs that make continued research and publication possible.

These examples are illustrative, not an exclusive list. The project will continue to describe material sponsorships or restricted support where that context matters to the independence of a published source collection or analysis.

Tax and independence disclosure

Florida Hellthcare is not represented as a section 501(c)(3) organization or other tax-exempt charity. A payment to Travis Brett Creighton or Florida Hellthcare should not be treated as a tax-deductible charitable contribution unless a qualified professional advises otherwise based on the actual arrangement. Support is generally unrestricted and may be used for the project, related past obligations, or ordinary personal needs that permit the work to continue. No contribution purchases control over source selection, annotation, analysis, conclusions, or publication.

Federal tax treatment depends on the facts and circumstances. The IRS explains that crowdfunding receipts may be taxable, while amounts arising from detached and disinterested generosity without anything expected in return may qualify as gifts. Complete records should be kept for amounts received and their disposition. See the IRS crowdfunding guidance and consult a qualified tax professional.

Ask before imposing a restriction

A donor or sponsor who wants support limited to a defined purpose should contact the project first. A restriction exists only if it is accepted in writing. A source-specific acknowledgment may state, for example: “Digitization of this source collection was supported by [Sponsor]. The sponsor had no role in source selection, annotation, or analysis.”
